Beaches
For beaches the South Devon Coast is hard to beat!
There are miles of safe award winning beaches for families, or if you want more action, you can try some of the popular watersports on offer.
The beaches in South Devon are also great for crabbing. Check out our crabbing site for more information on places to go crabbing, where to eat crab, and great recipes to print out and use. The recipes have been created by top local chefs such as Mitch Tonks and Tim Bouget.
Please visit any of our Tourist Information Centres for more information about crabbing in South Devon.
Many of our beaches have awards for water and beach quality, and a great swathe of the coastline is under the protection of an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) or the National Trust.
Dawlish Warren is internationally recognised as a wildlife centre, while Bigbury on Sea hosts the fabulous Burgh Island, accessible only at low tide or by sea tractor.
