Café Alf Resco

Alf's is an exciting fusion of delicious fresh food & drink, vibrant atmosphere, live music & ensuite accommodation in the heart of Dartmouth, Devon. We are especially popular with Dartmouth’s local and visiting sailing and rowing fraternity, who quite rightly see it as the town’s best breakfast spot. In fact, we were voted one of the Top 50 Cafes in the Country by The Independent.

We provide a relaxed stress-free environment in which to enjoy tasty, freshly cooked food, whilst chatting with family & friends, checking your email on our FREE WI-FI, listening to live music, or simply mulling over the morning paper.

We also provide year-round accommodation above the cafe, so you can come & stay with us too....

We are open 7am-2pm, 7 days a week, all year round and our emphasis is on serving up local, freshly prepared food & drink. Bread is baked in Dartmouth, pastries baked in house, we use free range eggs from a few miles out of town, orange juice is freshly squeezed at the cafe and we serve our own home blend coffee, roasted locally, made on our vintage Gaggia lever machine.

As well as the popular Alf’s full breakfast, which includes our special-recipe sausages, we serve lighter breakfast options like homemade granola, locally produced yoghurts, filled baguettes, pastries, toasties and year round lunchtime specials, including our rather popular homemade soups.

Most of our food is locally sourced and all freshly prepared. Nothing is frozen or pre-prepared, we don't even own a microwave!! We are fully licensed and serve local ales and juices, as well as a tempting selection of wines and cheeses.

Children of all ages are welcome morning and evening & menu items can be tailored to their taste buds. Puzzles & colouring books are provided to help them feel at home. We also love welcoming dogs & they can enjoy their very own 'doggy sausage' if they like.

We are open in the evening for private parties all year round, during the Dart Music Festival and Regatta week, for groups of between 25 and 60.
