If you like walking, you will love walking in South Devon! With the stunning splendour of the coastal path and the stark beauty of Dartmoor, walking in South Devon is a truly unforgettable experience.

The sweeping seascapes make walking along the South Devon Coast Path very special with the chance to spot dolphins, basking sharks, seals and marine birds. Ancient walkways left by generations of coastguards lead you along rocky headlands, above sandy beaches and past secret coves, onto pebble beaches, past wetland habitats and through pretty fishing villages and harbours, reminding us of the rich maritime heritage of South Devon.
In sharp contrast, Dartmoor is dominated by giant granite tors which rise from a forever changing landscape of vivid and muted colours. The Two Moors Way is a superb moorland route between Ivybridge and Holne, as is the old granite stone export trail from Haytor quarries to Teignmouth along the Templar Way.
Between Dartmoor and the coastal path is a patchwork of rolling green hills, pretty villages, thatched cottages and miles of leafy green lanes. The Dart Valley Trail takes you round the sublimely beautiful Dart Estuary and up to Totnes and many of the local towns and villages have heritage trails that bring to life local traditions and history.
