Here's your chance to paint your own real pre-fired pottery ornaments. Choose one of our hundreds of beautiful designs and then takes as much time as you like to decorate it with our special paints and finishes and then stand back and admire your masterpiece. You can either "Paint and Go" or if you want your ornament, mug, plate or teapot glazed so it can be used functionally, "Paint and Glaze". We will then glaze fire your design to post on to you or for you to pick up a few days later.
Birthday parties and school parties (we have curriculum based programmes that are educational and fun!) are very welcome. Just contact us to pre-book your party in!
On our free tour, you can see our craftsmen potters creating all sorts of wonderful ceramic designs including our world famous Cardew collectable teapots. Most of our designs take seven painstaking days to handcraft including at least three kiln firings.
Explore our spacious gift shop where you will find a vast selection of unusual items, from a huge range of beautiful ceramic gifts, clocks and cushions to baskets and bowls and even furniture and fittings, and of course the largest and magnificent display of teapots in the whole world, all or course in the best possible taste.
Our Madhatters Restaurant offers a truly delicious range of snacks, hot meals, fish dishes, fresh salads, even favourite dishes from around the world - and of course, our legendary Devon Cream Teas and a spectacular selection of freshly prepared sweets! All meals are home cooked and prepared with the finest of fresh, local ingredients. Separate children's menu, and 'specials' every day. Fully licensed, The Madhatter's Restaurant is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the drink and good food.
