Visitors to the Miniature Pony Centre can experience animals, activities and discovery, all set in 20 acres of beautiful parkland within Dartmoor National Park. See, meet and touch over 150 animals, including our famous Miniature Shetland ponies and Miniature Mediterranean donkeys that foal throughout the spring and early summer. Also waiting to meet you are Gulliver, our Shire horse, and Chico and Harpo, our miniature horses.

As you explore the 20 acres of Dartmoor parkland you will meet lots of other friendly animals - pygmy goats, Kune Kune pigs, Shetland sheep, lambs, chipmunks and chinchillas. There are many smaller animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils and mice in the Cute ‘n Cuddly stables. We pride ourselves on the environment and management of our animals, so there is no better way for children to safely be introduced to them than here.

There are lots of free, fun, hands-on activities and displays every day. This includes a daily bird of prey display with Martin the Falconer. Please check the activities board at the entrance upon your arrival to find out what’s on and the times of the day’s events.

In the Paddock View Cafe you can choose from a full range of refreshments, including morning coffees, light lunches, cream teas & cakes. We also have a picnic area.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

In addition to the concessionary price for disabled visitors, one carer is admitted free of charge for each paid concession.

The Centre is accessible to visitors with disabilities, although there are some steep gradients where assistance may be required, particularly for wheelchair users.

Please contact us for details of prices for school parties and group rates (15+).
