Road, rail, river and canals pass this pleasant village on their way to the sea and above them all rises the fine 14th century red tower of its church. This large village dates back to Saxon times. It is very convenient for visits to Exeter, yet near the coastal resorts of South Devon.
Exminster is a long village on the road between Exeter and Dawlish. It's close to Exminster Marshes and the RSPB reserve, with walks to the river Exe and the oldest canal in the UK. There is a red standstone church, pubs, shops and accommodation.
