Scattered village just across the Teign valley from Lustleigh. Beautiful views all round. Manaton rocks includes the formation known as "The Bowerman's Nose" a much photographed landmark on Dartmoor. Close to the famous Becky Falls. The bronze age settlement "Grimspound" lies in the north of the parish. There is also a church, pub, shop and accommodation.
A shaded green lies in the heart of the village and the avenue of ash and beech trees leads to the church and the thatched church-house. This is a good starting point from which to walk and explore Dartmoor.
