A historic village with some impressive 16th and 17th Century cob and thatch cottages. It takes its name from a large iron age fort on Denbury Down. There is a church, post office, pub and accommodation.

The parish church in this attractive village is well worth a visit, the area has visible signs of volcanic rock formations and there is evidence of defensive earthworks from as early as 300BC at nearby Denbury Down.
