Anthony Green - in print

The work of former Dartmouth and South Devon Artist, Anthony Green is making a welcome return to the area with an exhibition of prints at the Flavel Centre, Dartmouth. Tony, as many local people would remember him, was a passionate arts campaigner and a very successful artist in his own right, died of cancer is 2003.

Tony a former Dartmouth Resident, moved from Torquay in 1998 and remained a very active member of the arts and artist community across Torbay and the South Hams right up until the last few days of his life. Tony was key organiser and exhibitor at the Dartmouth Art Festival in 2001, co-founder of the Torbay Visual Art Festival, a participator of the South Hams ‘Straw Project’ and found success further afield at the Mall Gallery, London as well as wining an award from St Martin’s College on Art.

Tony was a keen supporter of the Flavel Centre project and contributed a lot of time and energy to the idea when it was first put forward. His family who are staging the exhibition, are giving 20% of the proceeds of this limited edition print entitled ‘Dart Mariner Race Day’ directly to the Flavel Centre as a continued gesture of support.
