Celebrate Start Bay Evening Bash
8:00 – 11:00 pm Saturday 16th August, Slapton Village Hall
The evening bash follows a day of activity at the Slapton Field Centre and Village Hall. It’s a chance to listen to some music, enjoy a drink and have something to eat from the Barbeque….maybe even have a dance …….
Karl and Daffy – guitar and harmonica/sax duo with some of their own tunes – all the way from South Africa via Totnes and Kingsbridge
Devonly Voices – renowned South Hams vocal harmony group run by the enigmatic Vicky Hadland – draw their members from across the South Hams including Torcross, and Slapton area. Have peformed at Dartmouth Music Festival and at the South West ‘Big Sing’ in Bristol. Tonight some vocal harmonies and even a little audience participation…….
The Turn - Despite the musical credentials of this young 5 piece (dare we say boy) band whose common feature is music at Dartington - they bang out a good 'cover'. When not being 'The Turn' they have also appeared as the MAD (Malborough Amateur Drama Group) panto band - of whom the drama critic wrote : "The band was of the highest professional quality and as good as those of the big pro pantos". With music from the 70s to the present day there’ll be no excuses to stand still and watch….
Tickets – admission only £5 from Kingsbridge and Dartmouth TICs and the Tower Inn, Slapton
