Oakwood Farm Stud & Riding Centre

There is no better way to enjoy the Devon countryside than from the back of a good horse and here at Oakwood we offer good quality horses and ponies. Instruction is given by qualified B.H.S.A. I or I.I. No one will be asked to ride beyond their capabilities. Small groups, a maximum of six, means we can give you a much more personal service. All rides are escorted by guides holding a riding and road safety exam. We specialise in nervous and novice riders. Also you can enjoy hacking in Devon's glorious countryside stopping off at one of our local pubs on route. Riding for special needs is also available. Half hour lessons prices: Claire-£15, Val-£20. Half hour hack is £11, and hour hack is £16. Booking is essential. Cater for special needs.

Road Directions

Join the A380 from Newton Abbot towards Exeter for approx 2 miles. Turn left at the Ideford Dip, signed Ideford, Luton and Chudleigh. At the bottom of the slip road turn right continue to the top of the road and turn left. Go through the village of Ideford, pass the pub (Royal Oak) and a garage continue up the hill towards Luton. Oakwood Farm will be found on your right sign posted with two horses heads at the bottom of the drive.

Public Transport Directions

By bus from Torquay or Pen Inn round about Newton Abbot, take the X46 Bus to Exeter. It stops at Ideford Dip, then follow signs (as road directions).
