Plant World

Plant World, located between Torquay and Newton Abbot in beautiful South Devon, offers an outstanding collection of rare and exotic plants from around the world. Indeed, the four acres of landscaped gardens has been called Devon’s “little outdoor Eden”. Representing each of the five continents, it offers an extensive collection of indigenous trees, shrubs and flowers.

A large, mature garden and a Mediterranean garden complete the collection. Inspirational gardens from around the world contain a selection of rare and exotic plants seldom seen outside their native lands.

Choice plants seen in the gardens may be bought in the Plantsman’s Nursery – a treasure trove of sought-after plants. Established in 1985, Plant World is the culmination of a plantsman’s vision holding a lifetime’s collection and has been featured on the BBC’s Gardeners World, ITV’s Gardens for All and Channel 4’s Bloom.

Gardening should be fun for everyone, even children see how many flowerpot men they can spot during their trip around the world. Will they spot Katy Koala in Australia and the Yeti (before he spots them!)?

Parking and nursery entry is free. A modest garden entry charge is made for adults children go in free. There is also a picnic area and a beautiful, new panoramic café offering light lunches and cream teas.
