Shilstone Rocks Riding Centre

Riding is a great way to see Dartmoor. Based in the National Park at Widecombe in-the Moor, Shilstone Rocks offers excellent riding over Dartmoor for complete beginners to experienced riders. To give a more personal service rides are organised into groups of 4 or less (larger groups accommodated), and are tailored to individual experience. Our qualified ride leaders and instructors will give you as much or as little instruction as you require both before and during your ride.

Lessons are available. We can organise a tailor made package of lessons to suit you, whether you are a complete beginner or more experienced. A mix of lessons in the arena with instructional hacks over Dartmoor is a great option.

We offer full and holiday livery, with large stables, all year round turn out, arena, lessons, advice and fabulous moorland riding. We also have self catering accommodation, making an ideal base for a riding/walking holiday.

Shilstone Rocks is a British Horse Society Approved family business, established in 1962. It is also home to the famous prize winning Dartmoor pony stud. They successfully compete at Olympia and Horse of the Year Show.
