Dresden House

Our small friendly guest house is run by its owners Gwen & Derek on a home from home basis, as we like our guests to feel relaxed and at home as soon as they walk through the door.
We are situated in the centre of town and therefore a very short walk from the beach, shops, pubs, and restaurants. The buses to Torquay/ Exeter stop outside our gate, and the train station is only a short walk away, the coach stop a little further, both of which we will pick up from if we are available.

Our bedrooms are all double glazed and centrally heated all with individual control. All are en-suite and have T.V. and well appointed tea/coffee making, with complementary biscuits.
We have three family rooms two with double bed and single bed, and one with double bed and bunk beds. Three double rooms and two single rooms.

There is a comfortable lounge and separate bar for that quite drink.
The house is late Victorian and unfortunately does not lend itself to wheelchair users due to its construction with two steps to the front door being quite steep and a front door that does not fit the width of a chair. There is storage for a fold down wheelchair for those who are partially mobile and can manage stairs.

We do not have any ground floor rooms, and our dining room is down a further flight of stairs, although there is a resting place between flights. There are hand rails on both sides of the stairs leading to the dining room and the first floor.

We are sorry but we do not accept pets, but guide dogs are most welcome.

Road Directions

From M5
Come off the end of the M5 onto the A38. Continue until the road splits to the A380 sign posted Torquay. Take the A380 and continue until sign posted Teignmouth B3192 take that road until the traffic lights at the bottom of the hill. Turn left straight across next lights to mini-roundabout, turn right to Orchard Gardens.

From the Station entrance cross the road and turn right and walk for approx 350yrds to the mini-roundabout and turn left into orchard gardens our house is approx 50yrds on the right.
