South Allington House is a working farm set in beautiful grounds in a quiet hamlet between Start Point and Prawle Point in the South Hams. If you want peace and quiet this is just the place for you. The area offers all the usual holiday activities - it is ideally situated for the beach and lovely coastal walks, and provides the opportunity to view birds and animals in their natural habitat. The picturesque town of Salcombe is nearby for sailing, fishing and water sports. Thurlestone is famous for its golf course. Kingsbridge is seven miles away, and can provide plenty of entertainment, from a sports centre and swimming pool to tennis courts and a museum. The historic naval town of Dartmouth is approx. 10 miles and is abundant in naval history, as well as offering spectacular river trips up the river Dart to Totnes.
We have nine rooms available in the house (5 ensuite, 2 four poster beds with ensuite, and two rooms with private facilities). All rooms have tea and coffee making facliities, colour television and hairdryer. A clothes iron and shoe cleaning materials are available on request. There is also a visitor's television lounge and pay phone for your convenience. Guests are free to use the grounds during the day; we have a tennis court, croquet and coarse fishing for your entertainment. Cream Teas are available in the summer. Self catering also available.Closed for November. No credit cards accepted.

South Allington Wildlife Report
From A38 turn off to Buckfastleigh, Totnes & Kingsbridge, and follow signs for Kingsbridge. In Kingsbridge take the main Dartmouth road, until you get to Frogmore, having passed through Frogmore, turn right over the bridge signposted East Prawle. Follow signs for East Prawle as far as Chivelstone Cross, turn left and we are 0.5 mile on the right.
From Totnes - 10 miles
Bus from Totnes station to Kingsbridge, then taxi to S. Allington House (7 miles).
