Walmer Towers

Walmer Towers is a peaceful country house with lovely views, ideally situated 10 minutes from Torquay, Paignton and Newton Abbot. Jackie & Bill Kirkham offer a warm and friendly welcome with a tray of tea, coffee and scones on your arrival.

The two en suite bedrooms are large, light and airy, offering a high degree of comfort, with king size beds, luxury carpets and fully tiled bathrooms; one en suite, being particularly large, with double shower, twin sinks, cornerbath and bidet. IT facilities are available in the downstairs' study.

Fresh milk for your hospitality tray is available in the guests fridge, which you are free to use to chill a bottle of wine for that special occasion.

Breakfast is served in the lovely dining room and there is plenty of choice: home made breads and organic preserves, fresh fruit, cereals and a full English breakfast or maybe smoked haddock or a continental breakfast to ring the changes. The produce is all locally sourced and the eggs are free range. Walmer Towers is a perfect base for exploring beautiful Devon and its numerous attractions: Dartmoor National Park, the lovely beaches, historic houses, walking and cycling trail and golf to mention but a few, are all within easy reach; if this sounds too energetic, why not simply relax and unwind in the garden!

Many excellent inns and restaurants can be found nearby and transport can be provided for a nominal sum. We also offer a collection service to and from the local railway or coach stations and chauffeur driven trips and tours are available by prior arrangement. We specialise in personal service in order to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and we hope to see you soon!

Road Directions

From the A380 from Newton Abbot towards Torquay follow A380, named Hamlin Way to first roundabout, called Gallons Gate. Turn left into Marldon Road (Torquay). Take next turning left to Moles Lane. Walmer Towers is 1 mile down Moles Lane on the right.

Public Transport Directions

from Newton Abbot train station take the 12A bus to Kingskerswell. Walk from A380 bus stop through Fore Street, over railway bridge and turn left into Yon Street. Yon Street becomes Huxnor Road, which in turn becomes Moles Lane. Walmer Towers is 1 mile from the railway bridge on the left. By prior arrangement, we collect from Newton Abbot or Torquay bus or train stations.
