Dartmouth Camping and Caravanning Club Site

Overlooking the beautiful South Hams coast the campsite is just five minutes’ drive from the attractive harbour and narrow streets of Dartmouth.

Blackpool Sands is in a spectacular crescent-shaped bay and is just a mile away. Slapton Sands offers miles of unspoilt shingle beach and Torcross has an area for watersports.

Dartmouth is a historic, deep water port. Its narrow streets house boutique shops, art galleries and delicatessens. The cobbled market place hosts regular Farmers’ Markets. The town is a sailor’s paradise, with the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta being held during the last week of August. Cross the river Dart to the pretty village of Kingswear and you can board the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway for a seven mile ride along the Torbay coast. At the other end of the line, Paignton is a traditional seaside town with a zoo featuring thousands of animals in 80 acres of natural habitat.

The Model Village at Babbacombe has its own castle and medieval village is worth visiting. Torquay is known as the ‘Queen of the English Riviera’ and the town has nine beaches to choose from. Torquay is famous for being the home to crime writer Agatha Christie. Totnes hosts an Elizabethan town market every Tuesday and Friday during the summer.

For many people a holiday to the coast means the opportunity to buy fresh seafood and the market in the port at Brixham is the perfect place for freshly caught fish or visit the local village fish restaurant that serves the days catch.

So, for a great base and lots to do in the area you will be delighted you chose this campsite for your holiday.
