The region has tons of Christmas events taking place this year, but we all know what’s most important to the little ones, and that’s where they can meet Father Christmas! There will be plenty of opportunities to meet Santa in South Devon in 2018, whether you’d like to enjoy a nativity or take a ride on a magical steam train, lots of attractions and towns will be hosting the man himself so you won’t be short of places to choose from! Read on to find out where to meet Santa in South Devon this year.

Santa’s Grotto at House of Marbles (17th, 18th, 24th, 25th November, 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 20th – 23rd December)

Take a trip to the House of Marbles in Bovey Tracey on selected dates in November and December for your chance to meet the jolly fellow himself as well as quizzes with prizes for children and adults. There’s no need to book in advance for this event, just turn up on the day. Entrance to the grotto is £6.99 per child; they will meet Santa and also receive a balloon, badge and gift. Christmas at Pennywell Farm (24th November – 24th December)

Experience the magic of Christmas this festive season at Pennywell Farm in Buckfastleigh. Children, and adults if they wish, are welcomed to join in with a wonderful Nativity with the Pennywell animals before meeting Santa and heading to the café for festive refreshments. Booking is essential and if you book the 9:45am performance on the 24th, 25th Nov or 1st, 2nd of December you can enjoy breakfast with Santa! Those who book the 2:30pm performance on the 1st or 2nd of December will be treated to a Devon cream tea with Santa after the show. The Crealy Christmas Spectacular (1st – 23rd December)

Head to Crealy Adventure Park & Resort over the seasonal period and be treated to a Christmas extravaganza. Visit Father Christmas in his enchanting toy store where the kids can choose from a wide array of presents! Your ticket also includes a seat at Crealy’s Christmas Ice Show where talented ice skaters and aerial performers will dazzle you with their family show. And if that’s not enough, you can make your way to the indoor Christmas market to snap up some great gifts for your loved ones. Christmas at Woodlands (1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd & 23rd December)

Make your way to Woodlands Family Theme Park on certain dates in the lead up to Christmas and dive into a magical experience with a Christmas Grotto Ticket. Your ticket will include a journey through Father Christmas’ 9  room grotto, a special gift, photo opportunities with the famous man himself and his hardworking elves, entry to the park and plenty more. Santa By Steam at South Devon Railway (1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 18th – 24th December)

Visit Santa in his own grotto train this year when you hop on board the steam train at South Devon Railway on selected dates. Climb aboard at Buckfastleigh after enjoying some entertainment at the station and travel through the beautiful South Devon countryside as you relax and delve into some delicious refreshments. Childrens entertainers will be on board and each family will get to meet Santa Claus in his grotto where little ones will receive their present. Santa in the Caves (2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd & 24th December)

As if Kents Cavern in Torquay wasn’t amazing enough, this year visitors to the attraction on selected dates can also meet Santa in this captivating place! Experience a pantomime style adventure through the underground caves with plenty of great Christmas characters as well as a personal visit with Father Christmas where children (aged 2 to 12) will receive a wonderful gift. Mulled wine and mince pies will also make an appearance at the occasion to get you in the Christmas spirit. Newton Abbot Santa’s Grotto (5th, 8th, 12th, 15th & 19th December)

Newton Abbot has plenty of festive events going on during the lead up to Christmas including a magical Santa’s grotto (find out about all Christmas events in Newton Abbot in a special blog post here). On Wednesdays (5th, 12th, 19th) it will be open from 6:30pm until 8:30pm and on Saturdays (8th & 15th) it will be open from 11am until 1pm. Pop along to St Leonard’s Clock Tower where you will find Father Christmas in his twinkling front room and children will receive a lovely bag of sweets. Father Christmas at Greenway (8th, 15th & 22nd December)

Make your way to the wonderful National Trust property of Greenway House before Christmas to meet Father Christmas! He and his helpers will be there on three Saturdays during the lead up to Christmas. Father Christmas will be meeting little ones and sharing with them keepsake gifts, his helpers will be telling some festive stories too and helping children write their letters to Father Christmas. £5 per child, normal admission fees also apply. Breakfast With Santa (20th – 23rd December)

Make your way to Living Coasts just before Christmas this year and enjoy a magical experience as you sit down for breakfast with Santa! Little ones will receive a present and will even help make some presents for the penguins which will be delivered by Santa’s elves. Ticket costs are £15 per child and adults go free, only two adults per child will be able to attend the event and the ticket price does not include entry to Living Coasts.
