It’s creeping closer to the festive season and there’s nothing better about this time of year that watching your little angels’ faces light up when they meet the main man of Christmas – Santa! South Devon boasts plenty of fantastic places to meet Father Christmas, whether you would like to combine it with some shopping or want a full festive experience, there’s plenty of options to choose from. Plymouth Christmas Show, Plymouth (16th November)

Little ones can enjoy meeting Santa in South Devon in his grotto at the Plymouth Christmas Show on the 16th of November. It’s taking place at Plymouth Guildhall and there’s also going to be a wonderful market to purchase some Christmas goodies. Christmas at Pennywell Farm, Buckfastleigh (23rd November – 24th December)

Christmas at Pennywell Farm is a truly magical experience and it’s on from the 23rd of November right up until Christmas Eve! Beginning with a beautiful Nativity that the kids can join in with if they want to and then on to meet Father Christmas, ending with festive refreshments. Tickets are £13.95 for adults and children 3-16 years olds, £9.95 for children ages 1-2 years and babies under 12 months who do not require a gift from Santa go free, booking essential. Santa in the Caves, Torquay (1st, 7th & 8th, 14th & 15th, 21st – 24th December)

Meet Santa somewhere a little different this year as you step back in time at Kents Cavern in Torquay for a panto-style adventure around the fascinating caves. Afterwards children aged between 2 and 12 will have a personal visit with Santa and a present! There’s mince pies and mulled wine for the grown-ups too! Running on selected dates in December, booking advised, tickets are £13 for children (2-12) and £10 for adults and under 2’s go free unless they wish to receive a present, then it’s £3.50. Newton Abbot Santa’s Grotto, Newton Abbot (4th, 11th, 14th& 18th December)

Santa Claus is waiting for you at St Leonards Clock Tower in Newton Abbot! Little ones can visit him on selected dates in December to have a chat and receive a bag of sweets! A suggested £1 donation per child is welcomed and all proceeds will be going to the Mayor’s Charities which are 4 Dementia Carers & Homestart this year. Breakfast with Santa, Torquay (7th & 8th, 14th & 15th December)

Breakfast with Santa at Living Coasts in Torquay is a true Christmas delight that you will never forget and one of the unusual ways to meet Santa in Devon this year. You get to sit down with Santa Claus for breakfast and enjoy decorating your own pancakes, then you can help to make some presents for the penguins before meeting the elf who’ll deliver them! Santa By Steam, Buckfastleigh (7th – 24th December)

Make your way to South Devon Railway for a special festive experience this Christmas. Climb aboard and visit Santa in his Grotto Train! Entertainment and refreshments will be available on board and families will be called to meet Santa where all children will receive a Christmas gift. Santa by Steam trains will begin and end at Buckfastleigh, adult and child tickets cost £18 each, concessions available, advanced booking essential. Find out more about Santa by Steam here.

Christmas at Paignton Zoo, Paignton (14th & 15th, 21st – 24th December)

The little ones will love meeting Father Christmas at Paignton Zoo this December. Held on selected dates throughout the month, visit Santa in his grotto and receive a lovely present before taking part in the snowman trail where upon completion you’ll receive a chocolate snowman!
