It’s almost that time of year again and as we look forward to the festive season, local attractions and businesses are gearing up for their festive events. One big part of Christmas for children (and the young at heart!) is the chance to meet the big man himself, Father Christmas. We’ve got some incredible Santa’s Grottos in South Devon as well as other brilliant events where you can meet him this year. From magical tram rides to charming nativities and full on festive fun, we’re sure you’ll find the perfect place to meet Santa in South Devon. Christmas at Pennywell Farm, Buckfastleigh (19th November - 24th December)

Enjoy a magical time at Pennywell Farm this Christmas with their incredible festive experience. This includes their famous nativity complete with real animals, a visit to the Elves Sweetshop and of course a chance to meet Father Christmas who will be tucked away in his grotto ready with a gift for every child. The Polar Express - South Devon Railway, Buckfastleigh (Selected dates between 20th November - 23rd December)

Climb aboard The Polar Express at South Devon Railway this winter and enjoy an enchanting ride to the North Pole! Here you’ll meet Santa himself along with one of his friendly elves. Beforehand, visitors can explore the Christmas stalls and watch an exciting pre-show. Afterwards, you can visit the Santa’s workshop too. Plymouth Christmas Show 2021, Plymouth (20th November)

Taking place at Plymouth Guildhall from 10am to 4pm, Plymouth Christmas Show is the perfect festive family event. Expect a Christmas market, crafts and lots of fun as well as a special Santa’s Grotto to meet the man himself! For more details about Plymouth Christmas Show 2021, please click here.

Santa's Grotto at House of Marbles, Bovey Tracey (Selected days between 20th November - 22nd December)

House of Marbles will host Father Christmas this year at their magical Santa’s Grotto. He’ll be at the popular attraction every Saturday and Sunday from the 20th of November through to Christmas as well as on the 20th, 21st and 22nd of December. Visitors will delight in a magical trip through the winter wonderland to meet Santa and his Elves where they’ll receive a gift and goody bag. The Polar Express Seaton Tram Ride, Seaton (Selected dates between 26th November - 24th December)

On selected dates in November and December, families and friends can be whisked away to the North Pole on The Polar Express at Seaton Tramway. Look forward to a yummy hot chocolate and tasty treat whilst having the chance to meet Santa and admire the twinkling lights. Santa’s Lodge comes to Princesshay, Exeter (4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, 18th & 19th December)

Families and children can look forward to meeting Father Christmas at his sparkling lodge on Bedford Street. Entry is £8 per child and they will receive a beautiful gift box which includes Santa’s magic key, a certificate, tree decoration and reindeer food. 25% of sales are to be donated to Princesshay’s charity partner for this year which is Families for Children. Sail with Santa, Exmouth (Selected days between 4th December - 23rd December)

Sail with Santa has been a festive favourite at Stuart Line Cruises for over 20 years! Set sail on the River Exe and enjoy a Christmas extravaganza where you’ll get to meet Santa in his magical onboard Grotto where children will receive a gift and the grown ups can enjoy a mulled wine and locally baked mince pie.
