Drake's Trail Walking Spur 1 - Yelverton to Clearbrook - 5 miles Drake's Trail Walking Spur 1 - Yelverton to Clearbrook - 5 miles On leaving Yelverton, this route follows Drake's Leat which was built in 1591 and is among Sir Francis Drake's accomplishments. The route then follows a section of the popular West Devon Way walknig route, before following the Drake's Trail off road cycling route back from Clearbrook to Yelverton. This route is generally easy and mainly flat, with a couple of gradual climbs and descents. The surface is generally firm, with a short section along a woodland path, which also has some narrow sections. WP1 Start in the centre of Yelverton by the Drake's Trail Information Board (next to the bus stop). Cross the road towards the church and pass the public toilets. After walking through the church car park, keep right and join the cycle path signed NCN27 and Drake's Trail. Dot Waypoints WP3 As the path splits, take the smaller path to the left, signed for the West Devon Way and crossing over Drake's Leat on its way downhill.
