Update Sunday 4 May: No Community Cabaret tonight
If you looked closely, the Tinners Moon Festival brochure lists a Communuity Cabaret as happening this evening. This has never been well-publicised, and as a result, nobody has offered to come and perform. It’s been a really busy few days already, and there’s more great stuff coming next week, so we’re going to cancel this tonight, and have a quiet night in. Do come and see Kevin Figes Quartet tomorrow night (listen here to some of their music on Bandcamp).
Also, Pizza Amoré IS open until 8.30pm serving woodfired pizza, chips and garlic bread in the forecourt. The same on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week (to 10 May).

The Arts Centre is delighted to be collaborating with local journalist and writer Sophie Pierce, and artist Alex Murdin in launching this brand new festival which celebrates Dartmoor – its landscape, people, heritage and culture. During the late May bank holiday weekend, Friday 23 to Monday 26, ticketed events will take place in Ashburton and at locations around the moor. On Friday, Martha Tilston is on here at the arts centre, and Folk music legend Seth Lakeman will be headlining on the Saturday night; other speakers and performers include the international artist Garry Fabian Miller, novelist Fiona Williams, poet/artist Sean Borodale, storytellers Sara Hurley and Lisa Schneidau, and the ‘dark and wild’ Beltane Border Morris side. Full details of the events here at the Arts Centre will be listed here very soon. Tickets will go on sale here on Saturday 22 February at 12 noon. Please don’t send emails to the box office requesting ticket reservations before noon on Saturday 22 Feb.
