Set in extensive grounds in the picturesque village of Strete, near Dartmouth is the 16th Century Manor House of Strete Barton House,  home to an award winning AA 5 star rated luxury guest house/bed and breakfast.

Nearby you’ll find a number of charming towns including the multi-cultural river town of Dartmouth, only 5 miles away. The sailing village of Salcombe is only 15 miles away and Kingsbridge, the principal town in the South Hams, is only 12 miles to the west.

Strete Barton House is ideally situated to explore the South Hams area of South Devon, Panoramic sea views across Start Bay from Start Point light-house to the mouth of the river Dart. Only one mile from the award winning beaches of Blackpool Sands and Slapton, Slapton Ley Nature Reserve and lake and its only 30 metres from the South West Coastal Path.

Contemporary interior: bedrooms featuring luxurious pocket-sprung mattresses, Egyptian cotton sheets and feather down pillows, free Wi-Fi access, wall mounted flat screen TV with DVD/CD player, iPod dock/radio alarm clock, extensive beverage tray, mineral water and luxury toiletries. Drawing room with armchairs, sofas and open fireplace. Breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the garden; full English breakfast using local ingredients, an amuse bouche of seasonal fruit; fresh homemade fruit salad and local farm yogurts. On arrival guests are offered home-made cake and tea or coffee served on the terrace in our garden overlooking the sea or in the drawing room.

There is a pub (The King's Arms) within a 1 minute's walk. Alternatively there are numerous pubs and restaurants we can recommend a short drive away.

  From A38 (Devon Expressway) take A384 to Totnes, at traffic lights turn right onto A381 signed Kingsbridge/Dartmouth. At Halwell, turn left onto A3122 signed Dartmouth. 300 yards after Dartmouth Golf & Country Club and turn first right signed Torcross & Strete. On entering the village of Strete, Strete barton Farmhouse will be found on the left after passing the parish church and The Laughing Monk Restaurant.
