During the Covid-19 Period the accommodation at Waterloo House will have an enhanced Cleaning and Hygiene Protocol to ensure that both guests and cleaning staff are kept safe. A copy of this schedule is available to guests on arrival.

Unfortunately, following Self-Catering Covid-19 guidelines, the welcome pack and store cupboard items will no longer be automatically available but fresh milk will be provided.

Should the Dawlish local area be 'Locked Down' at any time in the future guest bookings will be rescheduled or refunded.

This delightful, light, spacious apartment has very recently been modernised and decorated. Our guests enjoy a convenient central location in Dawlish, overlooking the Lawn, Brook teeming with wild fowl (including our famous black swans). There are independent shops, supermarket, pubs, restaurants and take away facilities within a short walk, as is the beach, train station, cycle route and bus stop.

Access through the apartment is easy with only a few steps to negotiate. The main bedroom has a lovely view onto the Lawn, but with triple, opaque glazing is quiet and private. There are two bed options; one kings size or twin beds, both beds and mattresses are brand new! There is plenty of storage space. The second bedroom has a 3' day bed which easily converts into a generous 5'6" double bed. The window overlooks a small, private courtyard, seating area. The bathroom has a large 1 metre walk in shower. The open plan living space offers both a snug for reading and TV with access to outside courtyard with seating , and dining area which leads through to a very well appointed and equipped kitchen: washing machine, fridge, microwave, oven (brand new in 2020), 4 ring ceramic hob, toaster, kettle.

Guest access
The entire apartment is for the use of our guests. There is access via the front door or for muddy boots, cycles and wet dogs there is a rear passage way leading to the back entrance via the courtyard with outside tap and access to the kitchen. This rear access is shared with a neighbour but is very safe and private.

Interaction with guests
It is very important to us that you enjoy your stay in Dawlish, no matter how long, and we are happy to provide local knowledge as well as a detailed introduction to the apartment. There is of course an 'everything you need to know' folder at the apartment which is regularly up-dated, along with information about local events and places to visit. The Tourist Information Centre is a short stroll across the Lawn. Guests are greeted and checked in whenever possible, but a key safe is available for the convenience of our guests.

The neighbourhood
Dawlish is of course famous for its Black Swans, railway and more recently stormy seas! However, in addition we have some great shops, cafes and restaurants, a fascinating museum, leisure centre, theatre/cinema and some great walks for both the keen and casual walker. For our younger visitors there is a good play park, a skate park and of course all the fun of the beach!

Other things to note
We accept one well behaved dog. Private Wifi is available. A travel cot can be arranged on request. Maximum of 4 guests.
Towels and bed linen are included as are some toiletries, kitchen tea-towels, washing up liquid etc, .  There is also tea and coffee, fresh milk and a good range of herbs, spices, oils etc., The apartment is not serviced during a stay unless arranged with the guest in advance at an additional charge.

Outside the apartment parking is restricted to meter payment during the daytime (9am to 6pm), however dropping off and collection is not a problem. After 6pm, parking in the street is free and always available. There is a large carpark (Barton Car Park) a short walk from the apartment and weekly parking permits are available on line from Teignbridge District Council.

Dawlish is a transport hub. The trains run up and down the South West coastline very frequently and in the summer the familiar whistle of the steam trains is heard daily. In addition, Stagecoach run a frequent bus service and there are several busy taxi firms operating in the town.
