• Hedgehog Hospital at Prickly Ball Farm

• Hackney Marshes

  

  

  Hackney Marshes is a Local Nature Reserve. Buzzards, kestrels and pheasants are often seen around the marshes. Snipe feed there at night as, occasionally, do woodcock. Mammals include a range of mice and vole species and larger animals.

  A small cove situated at the base of the cliffs between Teignmouth and Dawlish. A small isolated beach used primarily by local residents.

• Hound Tor

  

  

  Hound Tor is certainly worth a visit. It is reputed to be the inspiration for the Hound of the Baskervilles story and has often been used for location filming; a version of "Hound of the Baskervilles" was one of these.

• Higher Kiln Quarry Caves

  

  

  Local limestone quarrying in the 19th Century exposed many caves. William Pengelly, a renowned cave scientist, visited Buckfastleigh in 1859. Higher Kiln Quarry caves house a protected bat colony and hold an important 100,000 year old fossil.
