Pubs and Inns are part of what everyone imagines life in Devon should be. While you’re sure to find places that have a whiff of Jamaica Inn about them, you might be surprised to learn that South Devon is also home to an increasing number of gastro pubs and inns that lean towards fine dining.
But if you want good old-fashioned pub grub, there’s plenty of that on offer too.
A good tip is to look out for two signs - the green heart and the green leaf logos. The green heart tells you that the food served is from Devon and the green leaf tells you that it was produced with ecological responsibility in mind.
Devon isn’t short of pubs and inns and you’re sure to find one wherever you go - all of them with a traditionally warm Devonian welcome and some are just as welcoming to dogs too!
