Learn To Sea

Learn To Sea is an award winning marine education project in South Milton Sands, near Thurlestone. We have some amazing coastline in South Devon and Learn To Sea will give you the opportunity to understand more about this stunning coastline.

We have some fantastic equipment to make this an unforgettable day - hydrophones to hear the rockpool beasties and digital microscopes to take a closer look.

We also have various games and activities plus a team of enthusiastic marine biologists to make this a great day out! Staff all have enhanced police checks and we have comprehensive health and safety policies and insurance.

Booking Essential. Times and dates are tide dependent. We are open for bookings from April 1st - October 31st 2008.

Road Directions

From A38 – Take the slip road signposted to Modbury, Loddiswell at Wrangaton Cross Junction, then at the T-junction turn left onto the A3121 (signposted Ermington, Modbury, Yealmpton).

Bear left onto the B3196, at Palegate Cross. Follow this until you reach a cross road at the brow of a hill, turn right, signposted to Parklands campsite.

At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A379 signposted Modbury, Churchstow, Plymouth.
At the Bantham Cross Roundabout take the 1st exit onto the B3197.

Follow the road until you see signs for South Milton, follow the signs to South Milton and then once in the village take the road signposted for the South Milton Sands beach.

Here you will find ample parking at the National trust coastal car park.
