There's so much wildlife to see whatever time of year you visit South Devon. Here you will find downloadable leaflets on what to watch out for in each season:

Winter is the time to enjoy bracing coastal walks and watch the huge wave's crash against the beaches. This is a good time to spot different species of gulls and look for migrants such as fieldfare and redwing in the surrounding fields.

In the Spring, watch the landscape burst into life, particularly in the hedgerows as the wild flowers start to emerge. Look for new lambs in the fields and the arrival of the first swallows and house martins.

Summer is a great time to explore, the hedgerows are verdant, the birds and mammals are busy feeding their young and there are plenty of butterflies on the wing on sunny days.

Autumn is characterised by a changing of colour in the landscape - trees turn from green to russet and are laden with berries and seeds. Why not go on a fungal foray? This is the best time to look for mushrooms and toadstools!
