Wildlife Wonders Project

Animal MontageEach of the businesses featured on this website have taken part in a project called Wildlife Wonders. Wildlife Wonders logo

This project is part of a wider initiative to improve and support sustainable tourism development in the area.

Wildlife Wonders aims to improve wildlife conservation and protection in the area for the enjoyment of its visitors and the local people.

Over 30 businesses have been visited by an independent wildlife expert who has conducted a wildlife survey of the local surroundings. Each business has then been presented with a personal pack of wildlife information, including their report, map and trail, species guide, improvements list etc - all to enhance the visitors knowledge and enjoyment. You will find this information on display for you the visitor.

Each business gave a donation to the Devon Wildlife Trust for its involvement with the project.

Various Leaflets explaining the wildlife of the South Hams have been developed, including Natures Calendar, How to see more wildlife and a Spotter's guide, all to add to visitor enjoyment.

Heritage and Landscape leaflets have been designed, and specific leaflets for Dartmouth, Totnes and Kingsbridge have been developed. They are all available to download on this website.

Wildlife Wonders is funded by South Hams District Council, the European Union, South West Tourism, Devon County Council and the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
