Bovey Paradiso Café Restaurant and Art Gallery

Bovey Paradiso Café Restaurant operates in the popular Art Gallery in Bovey Tracey on the entry to Dartmoor. Recently opened, the Café Restaurant enjoys an excellent reputation with locals and visitors.

It offers a wide choice of dishes on its Daily Menu, including light lunches, afternoon teas and a range of sandwiches and snacks prepared to order. The menu is split in the evening between Small Plates and Daily Specials featuring local favourites and seasonal produce. Sunday Brunch and Lunch are also very popular, and booking is always recommended. The dishes feature primarily local produce prepared in imaginative presentations. The venue also hosts private parties, events and meetings in its flexible spaces. It is fully licensed and offers a wide selection of locally produced beers, ciders, spirits, non-alcoholic drinks, and international wines and beverages. Table booking is available online via the website, with telephone enquiries and booking open during opening hours.

The Art Gallery, which opened in 2021, has featured many exhibitions focussing on the local talent in the area. There are also 4 studios on-site where local artists create in various art forms. Regular private viewing events and exclusive artist's workshops are common gallery features.

The Bovey Paradiso team of volunteers acquired the 500-year-old property in Central Bovey Tracey in 2018. Operating recently as a pub, it had been closed for some time. Funds were raised locally to acquire, transform and regenerate the property previously known as The King of Prussia. Renovation works on the existing property have been undertaken and indeed continue. The cafe restaurant is intended to be extended, and a cinema and theatre will be added to the facilities when funds permit. Over 500 members are supporting the project, which also receives donations and grants from various sources. Full details of the project can be found on the website.
