Exmouth is a striking town resting on the Exe Estuary with magnificent views across to Dawlish Warren. Its charming waterfront and amazing range of attractions and things to see mean that you’ll never be short of something to do. Whether you’re looking for a place for a day trip or perhaps you’re staying in the town for a short while, hopefully our list below of the most instagrammable spots in Exmouth and the surrounding area will give you some insight into the best places to photograph and of course experience too.

Orcombe Point

Orcombe Point is situated to the south east of Exmouth and the western side of Sandy Bay Beach. This cliff point is of specific interest to most as it marks the start of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site with a multi-rock Geoneedle that is constructed with different types of rock from along this coastline. Not only could you get a snap of this impressive structure, but the views are sublime too so whichever direction you take a photo you’re sure to end up with a special one. 

Lympstone Manor

Lympstone Manor is the vision of the incredible chef, Michael Caines MBE. A divine Grade II listed manor house, the hotel is renowned for its Michelin star restaurant and staggeringly beautiful views across the Exe Estuary. If you’re lucky enough to stay here during your trip to South Devon then there will be endless photo opportunities both inside and out, but even if not, you could visit for a special afternoon tea or delicious meal and still capture a great image for your Insta feed. Bystock Pools

A nature reserve located north east of the town of Exmouth, Bystock Pools is just within the glorious East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and we just had to include it in this list covering the best places to photograph in Exmouth and the surrounding area. With a stunning lake, meadows and heathland, this nature reserve is diverse and extremely pretty meaning you’re sure to be able to snap a serene photo to add to any one of your social media accounts and share with your friends and family.

World of Country Life

World of Country Life can be found next to Devon Cliffs Holiday Park, Sandy Bay. The popular attraction has a range of cute animals for you to see such as llamas, pygmy goats and lambs, as well as exhibits for the whole family including a large collection of vintage vehicles, steam engines and motorcycles. Exmouth Marina

If you’re visiting or staying in the town, a trip to Exmouth Marina is a must and we just had to include it in our list of the most Insta-worthy places in Exmouth! Visitors can enjoy plenty of interesting shops and places to eat as well as wonderful views across to Dawlish Warren. The colourful buildings in the area and numerous boats and vessels provide a very pretty photograph.

River Exe Café

For a truly unique and magical dining experience, be sure to book a table at River Exe Café. A floating barge, diners will need to get a water taxi to the restaurant or use their own boat. Not only is the food scrumptious, but we’re sure you can imagine the incredible views from such an unusual location are awesome too. So pack your camera or phone and be sure to take a one of a kind snap for your Instagram at this one of a kind restaurant!

Exmouth Seafront

Exmouth Seafront comprises of a two mile long sandy beach with a sprinkling of rockpools and a great promenade. Enjoy a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants, alongside a selection of seaside classics for the little ones (and big kids!) to enjoy such as swing boats and crazy golf. Whether it’s a photo of Exmouth Beach you’re looking for, some great ones can be had when the windsurfers are out on the water, or something a little more artistic, we’re sure you’ll capture something that will make a great addition to your feed.

A la Ronde

A National Trust managed property, A la Ronde is a truly fascinating place to spend some time whatever your age. It is a 16 sided, 18th century house with an eclectic collection of treasures from all over the world. Both the exterior and interior of this beguiling home will offer up multiple occasions where you’ll find it hard not to take a photograph! Meaning there’s sure to be a few that you’ll want to share with your followers.

Sandy Bay Beach

Sandy Bay Beach is a half mile long, privately owned, sandy beach that is a great location for families to enjoy a beach day out. It is an ideal beach for swimming and watersports and there are life guards on duty during the summer months. Exe Estuary

We can’t write about the most Instagrammable spots in Exmouth without including the fabulous Exe Estuary. Sure, it’s a wide area to cover and we struggled to pick just one spot, but we thought we’d leave the specific destination up to you! If you’re an avid wildlife fan or birdwatcher you won’t be disappointed and the ever changing scenery means that wherever along the estuary you are, you can snap a sublime shot!
