Newton Abbot is a bustling market town with both an indoor and outdoor market, a high street full of shops as well as a great range of restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and bars.
As well as the town centre Newton Abbot has a race course which hosts a number of race meetings throughout the summer months, a museum, a number of local parks including the nearby Stover Country Park and some wonderful local attractions which offer great days out we’re sure your whole party will enjoy.
Running throughout the town and out in to the surrounding countryside you’ll find a number of cycle routes and walking trials allowing you to explore the surrounding countryside. One of these routes is the 18 mile Templer Way which runs from nearby Dartmoor National Park, through the town and on to Teignmouth. This great walking route lets you explore the best of South Devon, Coast, Countryside and Town, while enjoying some amazing scenery.
Within easy reach you’ll find the coastal resorts of Teignmouth, Dawlish and Dawlish Warren as well as Torquay, Brixham and Paignton which are known as the English Riviera, all of which can be easily reached by either bus or train making them the perfect destination for a car free day out by the sea.
