TITLE: Content & Marketing Assistant

Report to: Marketing Manager

37.5 Hours a week (Full time) - Permanent
Salary - £18-£19k dependant on experience.

OVERALL JOB ROLE
To work with the Marketing Manager maintining destination websites and assist in the day to day marketing activities of Visit South Devon. To create a content plan for 2022 and highlight target audiences.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Websites:
-
To assist in the content development of destination websites for visitors.
-
To help ensure all data for the websites are up to date.
-
To research events in South Devon and update the websites on a regular basis.
-
To research content for use on the websites and write content in accordance with SEO practices, including blogs, itineraries and website copy.
Marketing & Social Media:
-
To assist in the production and distribution of consumer and business e-newsletters on a regular basis using software such as mailchimp.

To develop and monitor the growth of social media platforms and their interaction – namely Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Pinterest.

To help create a social media content plan in line with the overall corporate marketing plan

To help with the arrangement of press visits and itineraries.

To monitor PR requests and respond where necessary.
-
To support the Marketing Manager in the development of online and offline marketing material as required.

To assist the Marketing Manager with the management of consumer and members events.

To assist the Marketing Manager in other activities which require the support of the team.

Assist the VSD team with Group Travel Marketing activity – creating content and attending events.

Support the marketing team with production of destination print and leaflets.

Skills and Qualifications
|
Essential Skills:
-
Marketing experience with good English skills
-
Excellent creative writing skills and proof writing skills.
-
Good understanding of the online marketing industry.
-
Good IT skills.
-
Good understanding of social media and how best to use it for business and communicating with key audiences.
-
Must be self-motivated and able to work alone and from home.
-
Knowledge of the South Devon area.
-
Confident in using Microsoft Office.

Desirable skills:
-
Experience and knowledge of SEO practices.
-
Experience in copy writing
-
Experience of using Adobe Photoshop
-
Experience in CMS systems
-
Knowledge of SEO and best practises
