Guest Blog Post – Julie Hasell (Cullompton Farmers’ Market Committee Member)

This year the Cullompton Spring Festival will include cookery, craft and music from around the world to celebrate traditions from a wide range of communities. This free event offers visitors an opportunity to enjoy a variety of musical entertainment, to sample a diverse selection of foods and drinks, and to meet and chat to the makers of the many crafts for sale. Venues include the Walronds, a beautifully restored 17th century building with gardens, the family friendly Hayridge library, and the Farmers’ Market, which was voted the Best Farmers Market 2018 by Food & Drink Devon.

Experienced chefs will demonstrate their well-honed cookery skills throughout the day at the Walronds. Some local producers will be showcasing their foods at the Farmers’ Market too. So, whether it’s Thai cuisine, including Thai vegan, a Mexican dish, Moroccan food, a hog roast, or a burger, visitors to the festival will be spoilt for choice. Eat and enjoy listening to local musicians, or maybe watching the Morris Dancers.

On a practical note parking is available in three central car parks plus on the outskirts of town. There’s easy access from Junction 28 on the M5 with regular bus links from Exeter and Tiverton via Tiverton Parkway station, Uffculme and Willand.

We hope you’ll come along and soak up the atmosphere at the fourth Cullompton Spring Festival which promises to be a colourful, vibrant and entertaining event.  Check the Facebook pages of the Cullompton Spring Festival, The Walronds and Cullompton Farmers’ Market for updates.
