Bonfire Night, also known as Guy Fawkes Night, is a traditional British celebration held on the 5th of November every year. This event commemorates the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605, when a group of conspirators, including Guy Fawkes, attempted to blow up the House of Lords and assassinate King James I. The night is marked by spectacular bonfires and fireworks displays across the United Kingdom. Woodbury Park, Exeter

The highly anticipated annual fireworks extravaganza at Woodbury Park has returned! Join them for a fantastic evening featuring dazzling fireworks, delectable food stalls, family-friendly entertainment, and more.  

Convenient parking is on-site, and kindly remember that only food purchased within the venue will be permitted. Please be aware that this is a ticketed event, so ensure you secure your tickets in advance for a memorable night. 

North Tawton Rugby Club, North Tawton, nr Okehampton  

Friday 27th October – Tickets from £6 per adult 

Nestled along the River Taw, just north of Okehampton, North Tawton invites you to their traditional annual fireworks spectacle at the North Tawton Rugby Club on October 27th.  

Starting at 7pm, there will be a bonfire, BBQ and a bar before the fireworks kick off at around 8pm. You can secure your tickets for this event in advance online or acquire them at the gate on the day of the event.  

Kindly note that parking spaces are limited, so consider carpooling where possible or explore public transportation options for your convenience. 

Winslade Manor, Exeter  

Friday 3rd November – Tickets from £14 per adult 

Winslade Manor has gone above and beyond to curate an unforgettable, family-friendly evening filled with fireworks, live music, talented DJs, a lively after-party, and a delectable selection of food and drinks. The fireworks display will be masterfully orchestrated by seasoned pyrotechnicians from Whisper, set to the captivating soundtrack of 'A Night at the Movies.'  

With standard tickets, you'll gain entry to The Forge bar area, boasting a multitude of bars both indoors and outdoors, an array of street food stalls, a sports simulator, live musical performances, and a DJ for the ultimate post-fireworks celebration.  

For those seeking the pinnacle of the experience, VIP tickets provide exclusive access to The Manor, offering spacious terrace viewing, a sumptuous Autumnal buffet prepared by the renowned chef Matt Mason, and a continuation of the festivities in The Forge.  

Ample parking is available, but it's advisable to secure your tickets in advance, as this event is expected to sell out swiftly! 

Moretonhampstead Firework Night, Moretonhampstead Sports & Community Centre, Moretonhampstead, Dartmoor  

Friday 3rd November – Tickets from £6 per adult 

If you’re looking for fireworks on Dartmoor, why not head to the Moretonhampstead firework display on Friday 3rd November.  

The event will take place at the Sports and Community Centre at the top of the town and Hot food will be available, and there will also be a fully licensed bar where you can buy a warming cup of mulled wine. 

Free parking is available on site, but it’s limited so arrive early to ensure a space. Tickets for this event can be purchased on the gates.  

Collaton Cross, Newton Ferrers & Noss Mayo  

Friday 3rd November – Tickets from £6 per adult 

Newton Ferrers & Noss Mayo will be hosting their annual fireworks display at Collaton Cross to raise money to improve the outside learning/play area at the local primary school. 

They’ll also have a great choice of food from World Pizza, Jitjah Thai and The Real Pig Company. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite, at The Dolphin, Tubbs Pharmacy or on the gates.   

Exmouth RNLI Fireworks at Exmouth Rugby Club, Exmouth  

Friday 3rd November – Tickets from £5 per adult  

East Devon’s largest firework display will take place in aid of Exmouth RNLI at Exmouth Rugby Club near the beach on Friday 3rd November.  

Expect fantastic food and drink to be available from Exe Valley Pizzas, Big Bear Burgers, Street Food South West and many more vendors, as well as drinks available from the Exmouth Rugby Clubhouse.  

Gates open at 5:30pm with the event finishing at 9pm. Fireworks are due to start at around 7:00pm. 

Catch the fireworks from out at sea with a Stuart Line Cruise trip. You’ll be able to stay warm on their heated lower deck or sit up top with a blanket. They’ll also offer pasties, organic soup and hot drinks to keep you toasty! Find out more here

Topsham Rugby Club Firework Night, Topsham 

Friday 3rd November – Tickets from £9 per adult 

Join the festivities at Topsham RFC as they commemorate Fireworks Night on Friday, November 3rd. The night promises a spectacular fireworks showcase by Sonic Fireworks, and a wealth of entertainment to keep you engaged. Delicious hot food stalls and bars will be at your service. 

Please be aware that on-site parking won't be available, so we recommend planning your visit in advance for a seamless experience. 

Firework Night at Yelverton Golf Course, Yelverton, Dartmoor 

Friday 3rd November – Entry to this event is free 

Experience the magic of Firework Night at Yelverton Golf Course, situated on the south-western edge of Dartmoor National Park, on Friday, November 3rd.  

The celebration commences at 6 pm and boasts free entry, a captivating fireworks display, an indoor BBQ, and brilliant children's entertainment courtesy of Emazdad the Magician.  

It's a delightful evening designed for friends and families and everyone is cordially invited to join in the fun! 

Teignmouth and Shaldon Firework Display, Shaldon Beach & The Point, Teignmouth  

Saturday 4th November – This event is free to attend 

This year, mark your calendar for Teignmouth & Shaldon's Firework Display, scheduled for Saturday, November 4th. Experience the magic of a Star Wars-themed bonfire on Shaldon Beach, followed by a stunning firework show set off at The Point in Teignmouth.  

Embrace the theme by crafting space-themed Guys for the bonfire and contributing clean wood to fuel the flames. This family-friendly event is free of charge, making it the perfect choice for a memorable night out. 

Given the expected high attendance, we recommend opting for public transport to ensure a smooth journey and avoid traffic congestion. However, if you do decide to drive, free three-hour parking is available at Morrisons in Broadmeadow. 

Whimple Cricket Club, Exeter  

Saturday 4th November – Tickets from £6 per adult  

Bonfire Night and fireworks make their grand return to Whimple Cricket Club in 2023. Featuring the award-winning Sonic Fireworks, this promises to be one of the most spectacular displays in Devon this year. 

The gates will open at 5 pm, with the bonfire set ablaze at 6:30 pm. At 7 pm, the gates will close to prepare for the breathtaking fireworks show, which will commence at 7:30 pm. Throughout the night, you can enjoy bars, food stalls, entertainment, and music.  

To ease parking constraints, free coaches will be operating from Cranbrook to Whimple Cricket Club. 

Exeter’s Charity Fireworks Extravaganza, Westpoint, Exeter  

Saturday 4th November – Tickets from £12 per adult  

Hosted by the Exeter Round Table charity, Westpoint will be running their Charity Fireworks Extravaganza on Bonfire Night with Sonic, creating a display to music by Radio Exe.  

Not only will there be a fantastic display with the fireworks synchronised to music, you can also expect funfair rides, various catering outlets and bars.  

Tickets must be purchased in advance and free parking will be available.   

Fireworks and Tar Barrels, Ottery St Mary  

Saturday 4th November – This event is free to attend 

Ottery St Mary is widely celebrated for its annual Tar Barrels event, a distinctive spectacle that unfolds on Bonfire Night each year. Witness the remarkable sight of flaming barrels rolling through the town, and sometimes even balanced on people's heads.  

To experience this unique tradition, make your way to the town on November 5th.  

The event is open to all, free of charge; however, please be mindful that while parking is available it does get very busy and it's essential to note that the event may not be suitable for young children, animals, or individuals with limited mobility. 

Sidbury Manor, Sidmouth  

Saturday 4th November – Tickets from £8 per adult 

Located north of Sidmouth is Sidbury Manor. On bonfire night they’ll be hosting a huge aerial firework display set within the grounds of the manor, plus a bonfire with fire performers, music from Conscious Club, a licenced bar and plenty of food to indulge in.  

You can purchase tickets in advance online via Eventbrite or from Drews Butchers, The Red Lion, Sidmouth Post Office or Vinnicombe’s Bakery. You can also purchase them on the day at the gate.  

Templeton Village Hall, Tiverton  

Saturday 4th November – Tickets from £6 per adult 

On the outskirts of Tiverton, Templeton’s annual firework display and bonfire will take place at the Village Hall on Saturday 4th November.  

There will be a bar, hot dogs and hot drinks available to buy and tickets will be available on the gates.   

Fireworks & Music Festival, Tiverton Golf Course, Tiverton  

Saturday 4th November – Tickets from £10 per adult 

Head down to Tiverton on bonfire night for the Tiverton Golf Club’s annual Firework and Music Festival. Their dazzling firework display has been set to music by Sonic Fireworks.  

Live band, I Love Amp are returning by popular demand! Performing 80s, 90s & 00s hits in the marquee from 8pm with an expertly crafted set list to get you singing at the top of your lungs and dancing til’ you drop! 

There will also be a kids disco and inflatables for your little ones to let of some steam and partake in the festivities. Plus, there’ll be an outdoor bar and a food village to enjoy some tasty treats and beverages.   

Newton Abbot Rugby Club, Newton Abbot  

Saturday 4th November - Tickets from £10 per adult 

Newton Abbot Rugby Club’s fireworks night returns for another year, with the display run by Sonic Fireworks, set to the nation’s favourite movie soundtracks.  

There’s lots of great activities to partake in on the night such as a fancy-dress competition, live music on the outside stage and in the marquee from Tempus, Bongo Wolf and The Shrine, plus there’ll be a huge variety of food and drink on offer. 

Tickets can be purchased prior to the event on the rugby club’s website and parking must also be booked in advanced too.  

Plymouth Bonfire Night, Plymouth Hoe, Plymouth  

Sunday 5th November – This event is free to attend 

Experience the enchantment of Bonfire and Fireworks on Sunday, November 5th, as Plymouth Hoe comes alive with a dazzling display. Head towards the picturesque backdrop of Smeaton's Tower lighthouse, where the eagerly awaited bonfire takes centre stage.  

At 8pm, prepare to be captivated as the night sky ignites with a mesmerizing fireworks extravaganza. Marvel at the stunning rockets, fountains, and firecrackers that paint the Plymouth sky from the Royal Citadel. 

The excitement kicks off early, from 4pm onwards, as the Plymouth Hoe promenade transforms into a playground of enjoyment. Thrilling rides for all ages will be in full swing, and a special children's fairground ensures our youngest adventurers have a blast. 

This is an event designed for families, so don your warmest attire, soak in the bonfire's radiant heat, and relish the breath-taking show. 

There’s plenty of parking available in Plymouth or you could catch the bus or train there.  

Bridwell Community Bonfire and Firework Celebration, Cullompton 

Sunday 5th November – Tickets from £11.85 per adult 

The third annual Bridwell Community Bonfire & Fireworks Celebration is set to illuminate the night on Sunday, November 5th. Nestled near Cullompton, Bridwell is the splendid Devon residence of Lord Ivar Mountbatten and James Coyle. 

Ensure you secure your tickets well in advance for this immensely popular event, as it promises to deliver an even more enchanting evening beneath the stars compared to previous years. In addition to the dazzling fireworks, attendees can look forward to live entertainment and a delightful array of food stalls. 

Tickets are available for purchase online in advance or in person from the Orangery Cafe. 

Bonfire & Firework Party at Lupton House, Churston Ferrers nr Brixham 

Sunday 5th November – Tickets from £10 per adult 

Nestled close to Brixham within the picturesque English Riviera, Lupton House is all set to host its yearly firework and bonfire bash on Sunday, November 5th.  

In addition to the spectacular display, this family-friendly evening will feature a delightful spread of food, luminous glow sticks, a lively disco, and the artistry of face painting. The event unfolds from 4 pm to 6 pm. 

To join in the festivities, make sure to secure your tickets in advance, available for purchase at Lupton House or Galmpton Primary School. 

If you do attend any fireworks displays this year, remember to wrap up warm, wear a raincoat or bring an umbrella just in case the British weather lets us down!
