Guest Blog Post - Bovey Tracey Craft Festival

This June, we’re inviting you to explore Bovey Tracey in a slightly different way.

Running from 1–29 June 2026, the brand new Craft Festival Bovey Tracey Town Trail is a celebration of creativity, local history and the brilliant independent businesses that make this Dartmoor town so special.

Created in partnership with Bovey for Business, the trail links together a series of venues across the town centre, each one pairing contemporary craft with the story of the building it calls home. It’s a chance to wander, discover and see Bovey Tracey through a new lens - one that blends making, heritage and community.

As you follow the trail, you’ll find work from leading makers from MAKE Southwest, spanning everything from handwoven textiles and glass to ceramics, botanical printmaking and wool-based design. Each stop offers something different, with crafts inspired by the landscapes, materials and traditions of the South West.

But this isn’t just about what’s on display - it’s about where you find it. Along the way, you’ll uncover the stories behind Bovey’s historic streets and buildings, shaped over centuries by trade, industry and local life.

The trail is free to take part in and designed to be enjoyed at your own pace. Pick up a map from locations across town, including MAKE Southwest, The Cheese Shed, Bovey Larder and the Information Centre, and dip in and out as you explore.

Whether you’re a regular visitor or discovering Bovey Tracey for the first time, it’s a lovely way to spend a day - browsing independent shops, meeting local businesses and soaking up the creative spirit the town is known for.

The Town Trail also leads into the much-loved Craft Festival itself, taking place on Mill Marsh Park from 12–14 June. Expect even more makers, demonstrations and a real buzz across the town as Bovey Tracey celebrates its place at the heart of the South West’s craft scene.

Come for the craft, stay for the stories, and take your time discovering one of Devon’s most creative corners.
