Lunch with a View at The Bucket & Spade, Shaldon

There are some places that instantly make you slow down, take a deep breath, and appreciate exactly where you are, and Visit South Devon’s visit to The Bucket & Spade in Shaldon was certainly one of those places. 

Perched above the coastline with panoramic sea views, the setting alone makes this spot worth a visit. Whether you’re sitting outside soaking up the sunshine or enjoying the view from indoors, the scenery is absolutely stunning and creates such a relaxed atmosphere. 

We stopped by for lunch and were really impressed by the new menu, which offered some refreshing options that felt a little different from the usual seaside lunch choices. 

Between us, we ordered the Buffalo Chicken Tacos, the Crispy Frickle Burger, and the Truffle Oil and Parmesan Fries. The tacos were packed with flavour with just the right amount of heat, the burger was indulgent in the best way, and the truffle fries were impossible to stop picking at. Everything felt fresh, generous, and thoughtfully put together and presented. 

What really made the experience stand out, though, was the service. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating that perfect balance of attentive without feeling rushed. It genuinely felt like somewhere that cares about giving guests a lovely experience from start to finish. 

If you’re visiting Shaldon or nearby Teignmouth and looking for somewhere with fantastic food, relaxed coastal vibes, and unbeatable views, The Bucket & Spade is well worth adding to your list.
