Whats On in Newton Abbot

There is a wonderful range of event taking place in and around Newton Abbot all year round. From autumn fairs and Christmas markets, Halloween treats and spring events to summer festivals and shows we’re sure you’ll find the perfect day or evening out to complete any visit to South Devon in Newton Abbot.

You’ll find events of every sort taking place in and around town, from sporting events and competitions, food festivals and markets to shows and concerts. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing break sampling the Devonshire life or want to join in with the fun Newton Abbot is the place to visit.

With a number of music festivals held around town and the nearby villages, including Lemonfest and Glas-Denbury, as well as one off shows and concerts there is always something taking place for music lovers.

The town is home to a race course which holds race meetings during the summer months as well as a wide range of other events throughout the year including antique fairs and a fun fair.

Every year Newton Abbot holds a Carnival, a weeklong celebration with events taking place around town, the week starts with the crowning of the Carnival Queen and culminates with the carnival procession.

Life in South Devon is full of traditions and this can be seen in many of the annual events which take place throughout the region. One such event is the autumn Town Criers competition, which is held in the town centre each year and sees Town Criers from far and wide visiting the town for the contest.

Newton Abbots central position in South Devon makes it the perfect location to enjoy what’s on throughout the rest of the region. With its great train and road links you can easily join in with events taking place in the nearby coastal resorts, countryside and moor as well as cities.
