One of the tastiest weekends of the year is back - Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th October, 10am to 5pm

Powderham Food Festival returns to the grounds of Powderham Castle on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October 2026, from 10am to 5pm, showcasing a huge variety of the finest food and drink producers from Devon and the South West. Whether you're a Powderham Food Festival regular, a first-time foodie fanatic, or simply looking for a fun weekend activity for the family, this event is not to be missed.

Now in its second decade, the festival fills the castle's stunning grounds with a diverse range of food and drink to sample and take home, from street food traders and local alcohol producers to sweets, deli, preserves, coffee, chocolate, cheese, crafts and homeware. New for 2026 is a World Foods area, bringing street-food-style dishes from around the globe, while The Powderham Pub returns with alcoholic and alcohol-free options for those looking to raise a glass.

Throughout the day there will be live chef demonstrations and expert-led talks. Previous years have covered cheese-making, honey production and the history of wine, with the 2026 line-up to be announced soon. Alongside the food and drink there will be climbing walls, live performances and entertainment for all the family. For those feeling brave, the festival's chilli eating competition also returns, pitting Devon's bravest against round after round of ever-hotter chillies, from a gentle warm-up to the kind of heat that makes grown adults question their life choices. Watch from a safe distance, or step up and take them on. 

Powderham Food Festival is proud to host a number of charities across the festival weekend, giving visitors the chance to find out more about the causes working to support Devon's people, wildlife and heritage:

● Devon Air Ambulance — provides a life-saving helicopter emergency medical service across Devon, funded entirely by public donations.

● Devon Wildlife Trust — works to bring nature back to the region through conservation.

● Guide Dogs — helps people with sight loss live the life they choose, and will be running a Sponsor a Puppy campaign at the festival.

● Powderham Heritage Foundation — focuses on conserving Powderham Castle and its historic estate.

● Step One — supports community members across Devon through housing and mental health services.

● The Dolphin (Kenton Pub & Community Group) — a community-owned pub initiative for the village of Kenton.

● The Woodland Trust — the UK's largest woodland conservation charity.

● WWF — a leading global environmental charity working to address wildlife decline.

Tickets include entry to the Castle, so visitors can enjoy the full Powderham experience. Tickets are cheapest when booked ahead of the festival, so visitors are encouraged to buy online now rather than pay the higher price at the gate. With under-16s going free, it's the perfect excuse for a full family day out!

Free parking is available, signposted from the A379, though visitors are encouraged to use public transport where possible to take full advantage of Powderham's excellent local links and make more of the chance to sample the drinks on offer.
