Promising a fantastic day out for all the family, Salcombe Crabfest is taking place on Sunday 5th May 2024. Now in its eighth year, this action-packed charity event celebrates Salcombe's exceptional fishing and tourism industries, with an atmospheric mix of demonstrations from locally and nationally acclaimed chefs, tempting street stalls, children's entertainment, and live music.
This one-day event is free to attend and is organised by The Rotary Club of Salcombe in South Devon. Designed to not only showcase Salcombe's world-famous brown crab, the day also raises proceeds for local charities. To date, donations from Crabfest events now total over £60,000 cumulatively, directly benefiting organisations within the community, previously including Devon Air Ambulance, Devon Mind, Chill South Devon and many more.
This year's highlights are set to include family-friendly entertainment for all ages. Pop along to the Chef Demo Tent in the Creek Car Park and watch demonstrations from locally and nationally acclaimed chefs. There is even the opportunity to taste the dishes they have created before your eyes!
Stroll along Island Street, which for one day only becomes a pedestrianised market, lined with street stalls selling gifts, souvenirs, and foodie delights. Or, why not simply sit back and relax on the quayside, sampling some fantastic local food and drink while listening to superb live music from artists such as Yonder Folk.
With so many cracking reasons to visit the 2024 Salcombe Crabfest, make it a date in your diary now! For more information, visit salcombecrabfest.co.uk.
