THE TOUR OF BRITAIN COMES TO DEVON!

Guest Blog Post - Devon's Top Attractions

The Tour of Britain will once again be arriving in Devon on Friday 9 September 2016. The full 8 Stage Tour runs from 4th – 11th September and the Devon leg of the tour is Stage 6.  Starting in Sidmouth on East Devon's Jurassic Coast, the Devon stage will cover 150 kilometres of gruelling hilly countryside, finishing with a 6 kilometre climb to Haytor, a repeat of 2013's summit finish.

The route will be passing through Ottery St Mary, Honiton, Tiverton, Crediton, Chudleigh, Moretonhampstead and Bovey Tracey.  During the Tour’s last Sidmouth to Dartmoor stage back in 2013, a record 250,000 spectators turned out to watch the cyclists.  This new route has over 3,000 metres of climbing and fast descents on narrow roads, so it promises to be a great spectator stage and one not to be missed!

Devon’s Top Attractions are getting on their bikes to support this prestigious sporting event and several of the attractions are providing some special offers to visitors whilst the Tour of Britain is in action.

If you arrive at Pennywell Farm or Powderham Castle by bicycle during 4th – 11th September 2016, you will receive a 50% discount off admission tickets.

The Milky Way Adventure Park are offering Half Price entry and a free bottle of water for each person arriving by bicycle during 4th – 11th September.

Over at Dartington Crystal Visitor Centre, anyone arriving on a bicycle will receive free entry to the visitor centre between 4th – 10th September 2016.
