Summer in South Devon is jammed packed with carnivals, festivals, regattas and district shows offering a range of events for all ages to enjoy throughout the summer holidays. Family fun days, air displays, sailing, local arts and crafts, food festivals – the list is endless of events on offer.

Teignmouth Carnival Week 22nd -28th July

A weeklong festival full of family events and entertainment across the town of Teignmouth – head down to the Den area on the Seafront for a host of kid friendly fun.

Totnes & District Agricultural Show 30th July

One of the biggest agricultural shows in the country – showcasing all that is great about this town and its agricultural background. Stunt shows, parades, exhibitions, music, food, competitions, displays and more, as well as local produce and shopping – there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Honiton Show 3rd August

Where farming comes first – with over 400 stands to enjoy, including local arts, crafts and food, as well as shows, demonstrations and competitions – there is even ferret racing! This year enjoy aerobatic displays, motorcycle displays and a host of traditional agricultural demonstrations. If you want to know more about rural life in Devon – this show is the one to attend. 

Sidmouth Folk Week 4th August – 11th August

A weeklong celebration of music, dance and song and a highlight of the summer events calendar in Devon. Sidmouth town is buzzing with over 700 music events across the town, everything from concerts, parties, intimate sessions, folk dancing, storytelling, workshops and master classes, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy during Sidmouth Folk Week.

Woofstock Dartmouth 5th August

A festival with a twist! Woofstock is a festival by dogs, for dogs! Held in Devon for the first time, if you are a dog owner or lover head down to Dartmouth for an event like no other. Plenty of things for you and the dog to enjoy, including doggy massage, a dog pub, food, music and shows – this promises to be a real unique day out full of doggy fun!

Salcombe Regatta 5th – 12th August

A week packed full of land and sea activities for all ages! Sailing races, sandcastle competitions, fancy dress, crabbers race and the ultimate firework display give Salcombe a festival atmosphere during this week of traditional fun. A host of family friendly events run throughout the week for everyone to enjoy.

Beer Regatta 12th – 18th August

The beautiful fishing village of Beer hosts a week long regatta packed full of events for all ages to enjoy. From scavenger hunts and children’s fun to fireworks and late night dances – there is a family fun day as well as fishing competitions and traditional sea shanties.

Dawlish Carnival Week 12th – 19th August

Carnival week in Dawlish is a seven-day action packed event with a programme that’ll ensure there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Family fun days, beach days, carnival processions, raft races and more.  

Dartmouth Regatta 24th – 27th August

One of the biggest regatta’s in the county, Dartmouth Regatta is a packed three-day programme of air displays, sailing, sports, live music, street food, fireworks and more. Plenty for the whole family to enjoy and for kids to get involved in – including crabbing competitions! The Red Arrows also attend the regatta for a fly past across the spectacular valley.

Sidmouth Regatta 25th – 27th August

Sidmouth Regatta opens with a display from the Red Arrows on Friday 25th August – and is one of the best places in Devon to see these talented pilots. Both land and sea events are across the entire weekend with live music and firework displays on the Saturday. Sidmouth Regatta is not to be missed.

Kingsbridge Show 2nd September

A fantastic day out for all the family with hundreds of Trade Stands, Craft stands, local food and drinks stands, Kingsbridge Children’s Youth Market, Children’s Pets Corner, Donkey rides, Vintage and Modern Tractors, Live Music, a licensed bar and a wide range of main ring attractions. 

Bovey Tracey Nourish Festival 2nd September

What better way to finish the school holidays than with a local food festival? Over 50 of Devon’s finest food and drink producers line the streets of Bovey Tracey, and there is even a Gin Festival for 2017. Sample delicious food whilst enjoying local music – what could be better?
