Exeter’s Unmissable Bank Holiday Music Event

Friday 4th May – Sunday 6th May 2018

Have you got your tickets to the Exeter’s all-new music festival, Exeter Beats? This May Day Bank Holiday weekend, Exeter Food Festival presents three spectacular nights of live music at Exeter Castle. The event, hosted by Radio Exe, will bring the historic courtyard to life with a full line-up of top quality acts plus regional street food and local ales, ciders and cocktails.

Here are 5 things you simply can’t miss at Exeter Beats:

  1. Incredible live music

Friday night headliners are the nationally acclaimed Mad Dog Mcrea, an exceptional band blending a unique mix of folk rock, pop, gypsy jazz and bluegrass who never fail to capture audiences attention with their infectious tunes. Prepare to get your groove on with Friday night support act Malavita! as they fuse funky Latin beats, skanktastic & chunky bass lines to create a heady mixture of feel good tunes. Devon based multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Pete Falloon will also be taking to stage to kick-start the evening.

Saturday night features the UK’s top Madness tribute band, One Step Behind, who will be supported by London eight-piece, The Brass Funkeys. The Brass Funkeys’ energetic live shows are set to kick-start the party with sounds of reggae, hip hop, gypsy, swing and Latin. Attendees can also admire the soulful sound of the Leigh Coleman band to begin their Saturday evening.

Gear up for a magnificent Sunday night finale with David Live, the UK’s most sought-after tribute to the late, much-loved David Bowie, with support from Devon based bands Soul Funktion and Soul Stroke.

  1. Party with an Otter

The Otter Brewery bar returns to the Castle courtyard to accompany the tunes with the flavour of summer. Be sure to swing by and grab a pint of your favourite local ale.

  1. Foodie goodness

Imbibe the festival vibes whilst devouring some irresistible street food from one of the delicious regional exhibitors. We’re talking cheesy pizzas from South Devon Pizza co., pastry delights from Tom’s Pies, meaty treats from Kenniford Farm, vegan and veggie delicacies from V Dorset plus fresh exhibitors Thyme & Tide.

  1. Marvellous cocktails

Festival goers can sip on an extravagant cocktail crafted by the super-talented bartenders at Oddfellows. As well as cocktail classics, Oddfellows’ own creations are whacky, fantastic and absolutely delicious – a Festival must.

  1. A Festival undercover

What if it rains? Do not fear, Exeter Beats has you covered. If drizzly British weather comes into play, a rain-proof cover will be installed over the entire courtyard to ensure that nothing prohibits the festivities. Come rain or shine, the show must go on!

With so many exciting things to sink your teeth into, it’s time to assemble your Festival squad for a Bank Holiday Weekend to remember at Exeter Beats. Going with a group? Purchase 9 tickets and get the 10th free.
