*UNFORTUNATELY THE 2018 TOTNES RAFT RACE HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO WATER LEVELS*

Guest Blog Post – Totnes Raft Race

Probably the most exciting charity raising team event in the South West!On Sunday 30th September this year the River Dart will be alive with rafts of all descriptions and hundreds of crazy paddlers racing their way down the river from Buckfastleigh to Totnes to help raise funds for local charities!!

Last year saw 51 teams involving some 300 team members raise an amazing £15,000 for local charities.

Teams dress up in a whole manner of fancy dress with rafts of all shapes, sizes and designs and you are invited to join the fun again this year: have a great time on the river and raise some money for charity.Prizes are given for the fastest teams, all female teams, best fancy dress etc etc, plus every team member receives a coveted medal for completing the gruelling course. The race is an ideal team building event that can bring out unknown leadership skills, test friendships to the limit, test raft making skills and generally create havoc on the river! BUT above all, it’s a fun day out for everyone!

To cap it all off there's a Finish Event on Vire Island in the middle of Totnes with entertainment, food stalls, fun for the kids, and a Race Progress Chart so spectators can check the progress of their favourite teams. So come and join us, enter a raft, have a fun day out and above all help local charities that are desperate for much needed funds. Entry forms and full race details can be found on the Totnes Raft Race website here and on our Facebook Page here.

We can't do it without YOU!!
