EV Charging stations in Teignbridge

If you’re visiting South Devon this year for a holiday and you drive an electric car, chances are you’ll probably need to charge it at some point. Luckily for you, there are plenty of EV points in Teignbridge if you’re vacating in Newton Abbot, Dawlish, Teignmouth, or the surrounding area.  

If you use your phone as a navigational device (safely, of course!) on Google Maps, or something similar, we’ve made it even easier for you. You can copy the individual addresses below and paste it in your maps search bar before you start driving – simple!  

Buckfastleigh 

1. Mardle Way Car Park, Buckfastleigh, TQ11 0AD. This charging point is located in the car park and powered by Swarco E.Connect so please use their app or RFID card. They also accept contactless cards as a form of payment. The car park charges will also apply. 

2. Riverford Field Kitchen, Wash Barn, Buckfastleigh, TQ11 0JU. The EV points here are available for staff and customers of Riverford only. Opening times are Wednesday – Friday 12:30pm– 10pm, Saturday 9:30am – 10pm and Sunday 12pm – 7pm, but please be aware that they are closed for breaks between these hours so make sure to check their website beforehand. 

Chudleigh 

1. Chudleigh Car Park, Market Way, Chudleigh, TQ13 0HL. This charging point is located in the car park and powered by Swarco E.Connect so please use their app or RFID card. They also accept contactless cards as a form of payment. The car park charges will apply Monday – Saturday from 9am – 6pm, and Sunday 10am – 4pm. 

Dawlish and Starcross 

1. Sainsbury’s, Exeter Road, Dawlish, EX7 0SB. Located in the car park and powered by Pod Point. This EV point is for public use with a maximum stay of 2 hours. Payment will be taken via the Pod Point app.  

2. Cofton Holiday Park, Starcross, EX6 8RP. This is an open charge unit installed at Cofton and powered by Pod Point. There is no maximum stay, but please be considerate of other users. Prices at 30p/kWh. 

Kennford 

1. Exeter Racecourse, Kennford, Cheriton Bishop, EX6 7XS. Located just off the A38 (Devon Expressway) at Exeter Racecourse there are EV charging points in the car park. Please be aware that the car park is only open Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. Cost will depend how quickly you want your vehicle to charge and is powered by BP Pulse so payment can be taken via their app or by contactless card.  

2. Partridge Cycles, Kennford, Cheriton Bishop, EX6 7TW. This is another prime location, just off the A38. There is also a small café and toilet available here. Powered by VendElectric, this point charges at 40p/kWh. The EV points are available for use Monday – Friday 7am – 10pm, Saturday 8pm – 5:30pm and Sunday 9am – 4:30pm.  

Newton Abbot (and surrounding area) 

1. Charles Darrow – 12 St Paul’s Road, Newton Abbot, TQ12 2HP. Available Monday – Friday from 6pm – 8pm, and available all day on Saturday and Sunday (24 hours). You can pay for this using the Project EV Pro app at 40p/kWh. 

2. Finlake Holiday Park, Newton Abbot, TQ13 0EJ. EV charging point can be found inside the holiday park near the pool. Payment can be taken via the EV Charge.Online website and costs 25p/kWh. 

3. River Dart Country Park, Ashburton, Newton Abbot, TQ13 7NP. Customers of River Dart Country Park are free to use this whilst visiting and staying. Please note that one of the chargers available is set up for Tesla-use only.  

4. Haytor National Park Visitor Centre, Haytor Lower Car Park, Dartmoor National Park, TQ13 9XT. Powered by Pod Point, so please use the Pod Point app to pay. Parking charges also apply, costing £1 for 3 hours or £2 for 3+ hours.  

Teignmouth and Shaldon 

1. Café ODE, Marine Parade, Shaldon, TQ14 0HP. Free use for customers of the cafe during opening hours. Please note that there is a maximum use of 90 minutes during busy periods (10:00am – 2:00pm). 

2. Coast View Holiday Park, Torquay Road, Shaldon, TQ14 0BG. Free for customers of the holiday park to use. 

3. Morrisons, 1 Newfoundland Road, Teignmouth, TQ14 9AE. GeniePoint EV charging point, priced at 50p/kWh. Available all day, every day, but please note that there is a £10 overstay charge after 90 mins.
