Exhibition of Landscape Paintings by Danny Holmes-Adams & Clive Richards, In the Chapter House of Exeter Cathedral from the 7th to the 15th July, excluding the 12th.
Two South-West based landscape artists are collaborating to stage a stunning exhibition of new works which showcase the visual beauty of our natural surroundings.
This visual collection combines the tradition of painting outside with a modern expression of colour, a response to land, the light and the way we react with it.
The works include scenes of Cornwall and Devon , Enchanting Still-Lifes, Provence and the French Alps.
"Their art has an astonishing beauty to it. Light and colour seem to dance on the canvas".
Danny says; "We all feel part of nature and I'm inspired by changing weather conditions, light and the colours of the different seasons. I paint standing in the open air using my trusty Land-Rover as an easel and have often stayed late into the night in order to capture the serene quality of clouds as they drift through the sky illuminated by the special quality of the moon's light".
Clive's paintings are physical monuments to the land. Woodlands that orchestrate light through the rhythm of the trees, rocks that sculpt the space and have a real presence and majesty about them.
