Dartmouth Gallery Week 2025
Opening Night: Friday 23rd May from 6pm
Various venues across Dartmouth
Dartmouth Gallery Week returns for Spring 2025 with a vibrant celebration of contemporary art, sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, and glass. The much-anticipated Galleries Night launches the event on Friday 23rd May, inviting visitors to follow a trail through the town’s galleries, each unveiling brand new exhibitions from a diverse range of artists and makers.
Eight galleries, including Ainscough Contemporary, Dart Gallery, Simon Drew Gallery, and Jo Downs Handmade Glass, will take part, transforming their spaces to showcase inspiring and original work.
Event highlights include:
‘Flora and Fauna’ at Baxters Gallery – a dynamic mixed exhibition featuring 12 female artists and makers, with work spanning painting, ceramics, sculpture and wall art. This beautifully curated show celebrates the natural world in all its forms.
‘The Dart’ by Jacqueline Duncan at Coombe Gallery – abstract works exploring the interaction of water and light.
Elaine Peto’s ‘Creatures’ at Simon Drew Gallery – finely modelled ceramic animals, full of character and anatomical detail.
‘Above and Below the Waves’ at Leocadia – energetic palette knife paintings and intricate underwater illustrations.
Jo Downs’ Signature Collection at Jo Downs Handmade Glass – striking coastal-inspired fused glass pieces from one of the UK’s leading designers.
Most exhibitions continue for 2–3 weeks, offering a perfect reason to return for a quieter browse. From coastal abstracts to handcrafted jewellery, each show offers something unique.
