From bustling market towns to waterside villages and stretches of unspoilt coastline, the South Hams is home to some of South Devon’s most popular destinations. Whether you're visiting Dartmouth, Salcombe, Kingsbridge, Totnes or one of the area's many smaller villages, you'll find events taking place throughout the year.

Festivals, markets and local celebrations

The South Hams has a strong calendar of annual events, ranging from food and drink festivals to agricultural shows, regattas and community celebrations. Many of the area's towns host regular markets showcasing local produce, crafts and independent businesses, while seasonal festivals bring extra activity to harbours, town centres and village greens.

Throughout the year you'll also find live music, theatre performances, art exhibitions and cultural events taking place across the district, offering plenty of opportunities to experience the area's creative side.

Coastal and waterside events

With miles of coastline, estuaries and waterfront locations, it's no surprise that many South Hams events are closely connected to the sea. Regattas, sailing events and harbour celebrations are a regular feature in coastal towns such as Dartmouth and Salcombe, particularly during the summer months.
