Get swept up in medieval mayhem this May half-term at Powderham Castle. From the 29-31 May, witness the Knights of Royal England, back by popular demand, at Powderham for their spectacular jousting displays! Plus, the brilliant Pocketwatch Theatre Company will return to get up to medieval mischief throughout the half-term week.
With two incredible performances a day, the Knights of Royal England will partake in medieval performances, including jousting and sword fighting in the Deer Park, for a fantastic family day out! Enjoy a delicious BBQ hosted by the Powderham Farm Shop and let your creative juices flow with our arts and crafts tent.
This year, admission is included in your entry ticket to the Castle, so you can make the most of a whole day at Powderham Castle. The Pocketwatch Theatre Company is back for 2019, from the 27-31 May, with their spellbinding shows that your kids will love. Take part in their themed sessions for an interactive experience that will transport you back to medieval times, with plenty of swordfighting skirmishes!
These events will run concurrently with usual Powderham Castle activities throughout the half-term holidays. Make a day of it with a leisurely stroll down to the Walled Garden to see the adorable animals including spring lambs, piglets, goats and more! Enjoy lunch at the Courtenay Café or bring a picnic to sit out in the sunny weather. Take an informative and interesting guided tour to learn something new about the history of the Courtenay family and Powderham Castle.
