Food & Drink Festivals in South DevonSouth Devon is absolute foodie heaven. We boast some of the tastiest beers in the UK, our seafood is out of this world and our cream teas are best in the South West. We’re incredibly lucky to have a whole range of great food and drink festivals across the region to showcase our delectable delicacies and with many of them occurring throughout September and October, we thought it would be a great time to share them with you! Read on to discover the best food and drink festivals in South Devon.  

Taste of East Devon, various locations around South Devon (3rd – 18th September) 

Taste of East Devon Festival is a huge 16-day festival spread across various towns in East Devon and founded by some of East Devon’s renowned producers, chefs, restaurants and venues such as The Donkey Sanctuary, The Pig at Coombe and many more. From farm feeds to brewery open days, tasting experiences to BBQ’s, this food festival has it all.  

Abbfest, Newton Abbot

Abbfest is a volunteer run, charity festival that raises money for local charities and organisations. This food festival has been running for over 16 years and has been promoting local food and drink year on year. Abbfest is host to a weekend full of live music, chef demonstrations, comedy shows and much more! 

Foodies Festival, Exeter 

The travelling Foodies Festival comes to Escot Park near Exeter on 16th – 18th September this year. You can watch Masterchef champions and Michelin-starred local chefs cooking their signature dishes, learn how to make show-stopping cakes in their designated cake and bake theatre with Great British Bake Off stars or sample new wines and cocktails in the drink's theatre. This year Scouting for Girls and other great musicians will be performing at the festival to ensure the atmosphere is as enjoyable as possible whilst you’re chowing down on some tasty treats. 

Plymouth Seafood & Harbour Festival, Plymouth 

The annual Plymouth Seafood & Harbour Festival is a free, family friendly festival to celebrate the sustainably caught fresh fish and seafood on offer in this ocean city. There’s plenty of activities for children to get involved with across the two days whilst the adults can learn about the local fish from professional chefs. Of course, there’ll also be plenty of fishy delights to try throughout the festival too. 

England’s Seafood FEAST, Various locations across Torbay 

Every September Torbay is home to England’s Seafood FEAST. Across Paignton, Torquay and Brixham independent venues and businesses will be offering an array of menus to tantalise your taste buds with seafood fished from Brixham. There’s always a fantastic programme of events including a sunrise paddle and breakfast experience and fish market tours.

Powderham Food Festival, Powderham Castle, Kenton 

Returning this October is Powderham Food Festival with plenty of tasty treats, demonstrations and talks to celebrate the South West’s finest food and drink producers. Set in the beautiful grounds of Powderham Castle, it’s a fantastic family friendly backdrop to enjoy some of the best food in Devon.  

Dartmouth Food Festival, Dartmouth 

Loved by locals and visitors to Dartmouth alike, Dartmouth Food Festival is a nationally known food festival in the culinary world! There’s an exciting and eclectic array of events with celebrity chef demonstrations, tasting experiences, food markets and more, all set within the beautiful backdrop of the River Dart and Royal Avenue Gardens.  

Sidmouth Eats Boutique, Sidmouth (Second Friday of every month from May - September)  

Each fourth Friday of the month Sidmouth Eat Boutique host their exciting street food market, bringing global flavours and fusions to Kennaway House from 4pm – sunset. With an ever-changing array of food stalls, you can eat your way around the world whilst sitting under the East Devon sun with friends, family and loved ones. Choose from Thai, Spanish or Persian food. Maybe you fancy something a little sweeter like ice cream or an evening tipple whilst listening to some live music and basking in the atmosphere?  

Seaton Eats Boutique, Seaton (Second Friday of every month from May – September) 

Seaton Eats Boutique is the sister event to Sidmouth Eats Boutique. It’s held on the second Friday of the month in the summer period and can be found at Jubilee Gardens right on the Seaton seafront.  

Nourish Festival, Bovey Tracey 

Set in the town of Bovey Tracey and surrounded by luscious Dartmoor countryside. Launched in 2014 and was hosted on the 10th of September this year, Norish Festival is a craft, food and music festival that has been running each year to feed the body, mind, and the senses. You can experience tastes and cultures from all over the world. You could tuck into a delicious Caribbean meal or try a vegan kebab; Nourish Festival truly have something for every taste and preference.  Keep an eye out for next years dates!
